Keith Morgan prepped for college and graduated Barnsbury School in London majoring in art and drafting, and began his career in architectural design in the early/mid 1960's. Working as an entry-level draftsman for architectural and surveying firms in the City and West End of London he developed design skills and gained field surveying experience on various high-end residential buildings, commercial and industrial development projects throughout Great Britain, while attending classes and furthering his education at London's Northwestern Polytechnic.
Emigrating to the United States in late 1965, Morgan continued his career in architecture as a design team draftsman for Chicago based architectural firms, gaining further experience on residential projects in the Greater Chicago Area and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and on commercial retail development projects in Mississippi and Kentucky. Expanding his horizons, Keith furthered his experience in construction as a remodeling contractor. Designing and building improvements to many residential properties in urban Chicago and surrounding communities, as a "hands-on" builder, Keith gained more knowledge and experience in the various building trades practices.
Keith moved to the West Coast and made Los Angeles his home in 1969. Easily finding work in California's booming real estate and construction industries, he worked in building design and specifications writing on various residential and commercial projects for local archictects and design/build firms, becoming further involved in project management and supervision. After several years field experience, Morgan studied for and passed trades and business law exams to become a California licensed general contractor. In the early/mid 1970's, Keith embarked upon many years as a successful contractor, designing and building his own and clients' projects throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.
In the late 1980's Keith discovered his passion for building forensics and real estate inspection. Taking training on standards of practice, protocols and procedures he made a career move entering the inspection profession in the early 1990's. Qualifying for membership in the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) in 1995, Keith earned his advanced MCI credential in 1997 and later became a certified inspector member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
